Hastings Court Easter Celebrations
Hastings Court Care Home residents celebrate Easter in style
Hastings Court Care Home residents celebrated Easter by taking part in a variety of Easter activities over the course of Easter weekend. Residents took part in activities which included an Easter egg hunt, games and challenges and attending Easter Sunday service.
Easter Egg Hunt
On Good Friday morning some of the residents set out hiding eggs and clues around the home for the Easter egg hunt that was to take place in the afternoon.
The home is always encouraging residents to get involved with planning activities so it was great to see the residents being mischievous whilst hiding eggs.
One of the residents said, “We loved hiding the eggs and clues, it was great fun. We can’t wait to see who finds the most eggs!”
In the afternoon residents split into three teams and searched the home for clues and eggs. Residents turned the activity into a competition to see which team could find the most chocolates. Towards the end everyone gathered in the bistro and cheered each other on.
Residents then enjoyed afternoon tea while sharing childhood stories with each other. One resident said, “It was wonderful looking for eggs and cheering each other on, took us back to our childhood when we used to do this with our families.”
Easter Sunday Service
On Sunday morning residents tuned in to watch a lovely Easter service by St Helen’s Church in Hastings.
Members from the church also visited the home and delivered some beautiful flowers and treats for the residents. It was a lovely morning as residents enjoyed some coffee and walnut cake to go along with the service.
The residents have been attending the Church’s weekly virtual sessions via live stream so it was greatly appreciated by the home. Father Eamon also took some time out of his Easter schedule to visit residents personally in their rooms.
Deliveries by Doreen
On Monday, the wonderful Doreen went around the home and surprised everyone with Easter eggs. Doreen said, “I loved delivering all of the eggs to everyone. The look on their faces when they saw me was priceless!”.
Lifestyles Manager Kimberley Mann said, “As always we have been looking forward to Easter at Hastings Court as it’s always a wonderful time. The residents loved all of the activities and everyone at the home has had an eggs-cellent few days!”
One of the residents continued, “I think I’ve eaten way too much chocolate! Thank you to the team for putting so much effort into everything. The Easter egg hunt was definitely my favourite activity!”
