    General Manager

My first job in the care sector started 30 years ago and despite exploring other career choices, I have always returned to doing what I love the most. I have been at Hastings Court since 2015 and I’m proud to be a member of the Management team in such a fabulous home. I am passionate about our residents receiving the best possible care during their time with us and our team go above and beyond to ensure this happens. Seeing our residents doing the things they love is such a treat, from days out fishing, trips to the theatre or just a walk around the Old Town browsing through the antique shops, it’s sometimes the little things that count the most.

    Deputy Manager

I started at Hastings Court in 2015. I previously worked in a small charity run home for adults with learning disabilities for 8 years. I started as a part-time care assistant whilst at college to study for my level 5 in Health and Social Care. I have progressed from Care assistant to team leader then community lead and I am now deputy manager at Hastings Court. I love my job at Hastings Court. I enjoy the daily interaction I have with residents and staff. I feel proud to be able to support the team in helping them achieve their goals and create the best environment for our residents to live in. In my spare time, I play netball and love watching my son play football.

“Wonderful caring, loving and efficient care home. Great attention paid to individuals’ personal preferences. The food is excellent and imaginative and pleasant accommodation. An enormous effort made to entertain residents whatever their needs. Excellent bistro for socialising and meeting visitors. I cannot fault it.”

G B (Respite Resident)

“The activities provided are of an outstanding standard. I’m a little bit jealous I don’t live here!”

Granddaughter of resident

“There are also so many great added extras from the hairdressing to the varied and interesting entertainments and events.”

Son of resident

“I would like to express my thanks and gratitude for the wonderful care given to my dad by all staff and management. Very person-centred, caring and respectful. Also, the kindness and empathy shown to myself at a difficult time by all staff both in the reception area and on my dad’s floor. I feel confident and reassured that my dad is having the best possible care and support.”

Donna H (Daughter of Resident)

“My mother has received outstanding care at Hastings Court Care Home. She was blind and completely bedridden for the whole of the 6 years she was a resident. I have been able to be with her every day for the last week of her life, all day. All her carers and every team member has supported her devotedly and very kindly with great professionalism. I have also seen how every resident’s needs are addressed individually and with great kindness.”

Judith M (Daughter of Resident)

“We are extremely satisfied with the care that is given to Nan. She has settled so well and is happy. She really enjoys the activities and is taking part more and more. The staff have always made our family feel very welcome and are friendly. The activities provided are of an outstanding standard. I’m a little bit jealous I don’t live here! Thank you.”

Katy H (Granddaughter of Resident)

“My mum was admitted for end-of-life care, and from the moment she arrived, she was very well looked after. Her room was always clean and tidy, and she loved the floor to ceiling windows as she would she the trees outside. The staff were very attentive at such a difficult time for her, and it was greatly appreciated by myself and my wife. Thank you all.”

John J (Son of Resident)

“I am extremely grateful to Hastings Court for taking such great care of my parents during their 2-week respite break. They were made to feel at home and were very well looked after. This made me feel at ease knowing they were happy and safe. I would like to thank them all for the care, entertainment, great food, outings and communication throughout. I would highly recommend Hastings Court.”

S W (Daughter of Resident)

“Excellent, genuinely genuine caring ethos throughout the home – all staff are always thoughtful and willing to help. They make me feel I have another caring family who looks out for me and support me in every way. For example, they have made it wonderful to be able to see my sister, another resident, which has been invaluable.”

D C (Resident)

“Lovely home with a great happy feel to it. Hotel level of service with lots of activities. Always heard very good feedback on the meals and the tasty snacks. A real community feel and always going that extra bit to make sure everyone is involved, from the home’s own newspaper, to drinks and singalongs. Would certainly recommend to anyone.”

Ruth G (Wife of Resident)

“Initially, Mum went into Hastings Court for a short stay whilst she recovered from surgery. She then told me that she loved it so much she wanted to stay. We didn’t know what to expect from a care home but we didn’t expect such a lively atmosphere. Everyone is caring and friendly. It’s so good to see Mum so happy and smiling again.”

J T (Daughter of Resident)

“Excellent care, good communication. I have been continually impressed by the quality of care and compassion given by the staff. I cannot thank them enough for the care my father receives.”

E B (Daughter of Resident)
