    General Manager

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1994 and began my career in general medicine before moving into more acute cardiac services working on Coronary Care. I then became a Cardiac Research Nurse before moving into the private sector and working as a Clinical Nurse Adviser and Field Manager before moving into Elderly Care in 2007. My ethos in my role is that with great teamwork and collaboration, we can achieve anything for our residents and their families, and every single staff member contributes to the success of the home. Our residents are at the centre of everything we do at Maplewood Court.

    Deputy Manager

Originally from Poland, I moved to the UK in 2011 with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives. I studied Health and Social Care and knew early on that caring for older people was my calling. I began working in care homes at the age of 18 and have since progressed through various roles, from Healthcare Assistant to Assistant Practitioner, Unit Manager, and now Deputy Manager. I have always treated residents as I would my own family—with compassion, respect, and dignity. Working at Oakland Care allows me to continue doing what I love in a supportive, values-driven environment. I take great pride in being part of a team that truly puts people first, and I’m inspired every day by the positive impact we make in our residents’ lives.

    Senior Client Relations Manager

I am delighted to have joined the Oakland Care family as Senior Client Relations Manager for Birchwood Heights and Maplewood Court. My experience in the role goes back 11 years now, including the commissioning of a new care home. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than assisting families to explore full time care options, whilst sharing insights during what is often a stressful time for them. Outside of work, my biggest passion has always been travel, which hopefully will become easier again in the fullness of time!

    Client Relations Assistant

I’m very proud to be a part of the Oakland Care family. I originally trained as a photographer and photographic printer back in the days of film! From shooting family portraits in the studio one day to being in the darkroom the next, it was a varied job.

Working for Oakland Care has been by far the most personally rewarding; helping residents and their families navigate what can be a difficult and stressful pathway to happiness gives me immense pleasure. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do here at Oakland Care, and I feel truly humbled to be a part of it. Outside of work, I enjoy getting out in the fresh air, either on my bike or walking in the countryside.

Maplewood Court has proved to be the best choice I could have made for my father’s last few months. You can pay for care, but kindness is priceless. It makes all the difference.

Graham W (Son of Resident)

We are so pleased that Mum is happy and settled at Maplewood Court. The attention from all the care staff is to be applauded, and nothing is too much trouble to make her life comfortable and happy. The meals are taken in a very well-appointed dining room, which is laid out like a five-star hotel.

S C (Daughter of Resident)

From our initial contact with the staff, we were dealt with in a friendly yet professional manner and throughout the period, my sister was at the home. We had no reservations about her staying at the care home.

A S (Brother of Resident)

We are so pleased with the care and attention given; it’s top-rate. The staff are very friendly and have been very helpful to us in settling my mother-in-law into the home. We are very grateful for the extras provided, like the guest dining room where intimate small family gatherings with fantastic food can be used.

Stuart C (Son-in-law of Resident)
