Meet the Loughton Team

  • Hazel-McGwyne

    Hazel Mcgwyne

    Home Manager

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1987 and have worked Health Organisations in the UK and abroad, across acute, community, private and charity organisations. My speciality is Cardiology and Quality Assurance. When I began my role at Oakland Care, I immediately loved the warm, friendly atmosphere of the home and the buzz of the activities taking place in the Bistro. I have enjoyed every minute since and feel every day that I am coming to my second home, with that in mind I strive to add quality and joy to everything the home provides.
  • Leah Geraghty

    Deputy Manager

I started my career 17 years ago as a Care Assistant and knew then I was on the right career path. I studied Physiology whilst working within the Health and Social care setting, before moving into Mental Healthcare and progressing into other roles to support my career choice. I’m currently studying a Level 5 in Management and Leadership whilst working as Deputy Manager at Woodland Grove. I am passionate about providing the highest quality of care, and developing strong relationships is the foundation of everything I do both professionally and personally.
  • Nina Nikolova

    Head Chef

I started working at Woodland Grove in July 2016. The thought of taking care of the elderly and my passion for food encouraged me to start working in a care home. My main philosophy is that every resident should have the right to choose and the communication between the residents and my team is extremely important, that way we understand their needs. Every week I offer a new menu, in which I include a new meal which is by the wishes of our residents. My hobby is dancing, but the thing I most love doing is spending time with my husband and my two boys.
  • Fiona Heneghan

    Client Relations Manager

I have supported Care Homes for over 6 years and previously worked in Leisure and HR. My role is to effectively manage the occupancy levels of the home and build positive relationships with residents, families and external contacts in the community. I work closely with the marketing department and our lifestyles team to ensure our services are promoted to reflect the excellent care and support we provide. The residents are our extended family who we love to nurture and share daily life with whilst keeping them safe and well.

Testimonials

“The care my mother, who suffers from vascular dementia, received during the time she was at Woodland Grove was excellent. Woodland Grove is full of light and laughter and the staff have the best interests of the residents at their heart.”

Daughter of Resident

“From day one, every member of staff that I have come into contact with have always been very welcoming and helpful. The team of staff on the Primrose floor have been extremely helpful and patient with my numerous questions. I feel happy and confident that when I leave my brother I will be contacted should they have any concerns which is very reassuring. The care and support my brother receives is first class, he has settled in extremely well in a very short time. He seems a lot happier in himself and very comfortable in his new surroundings. I would highly recommend Woodland Grove.”

Sister of resident

” It was hard leaving Mum at first, but I can see she is happy and safe. The staff on Snowflake are friendly and welcoming. I can’t praise them enough for the hard work they do. I know there have been challenging episodes with Mum’s personal care and the Snowflake team patiently encourage Mum. We made the right choice selecting Woodland Grove and I would happily recommend for residential care.”

Daughter of Resident

“My mum has been a resident at Woodland Grove for several years now, having moved from a different care home, and quite honestly, I could not imagine her being in better care. The home and its staff are outstanding. From the day my family and I first visited the site, to the day Mum moved in and every day since, they have exceeded everything I thought a care home could be, by far. I’m usually quite reserved, but it would be a disservice not to give them full marks across the board. Not only do I thank them for caring for my mum, and giving her and the other residents a real home, amazing food and a calendar full of activities and events, but for what they’ve done for my dad and all my family as well.”

Son of Resident

“Mum has settled into Woodland Grove and considers it her home. The carers on Snowdrop are always attentive, respectful and openly loving towards her. The lifestyle team are the heart and soul of Woodland and ensure Mum is never lonely or bored. The activities are interesting, inventive and varied. Mum loves having her hair and nails done weekly; she feels valued. Whenever I visit, it is a warm and welcoming place.  I feel happy Mum is living in a safe and kind home.”
