Meet the Loughton Team
Registered ManagerI started my career 17 years ago as a Care Assistant and knew then I was on the right career path. I studied Physiology whilst working within the Health and Social care setting, before moving into Mental Healthcare and progressing into other roles to support my career choice. I studied a Level 5 in Management and Leadership whilst I worked as Deputy Manager and am now the Registered Manager at Woodland Grove. I am passionate about providing the highest quality of care, and developing strong relationships is the foundation of everything I do both professionally and personally.
Deputy ManagerI am a qualified Biomedical Scientist and specialised in Blood Transfusion. I worked for the NHS before I decided to join the Health and Social Care sector in 2012. My first role was at a small residential care setting for the elderly. I joined as a Deputy Manager and progressed to a Registered Manager role. Since then, I have been in various management roles within the sector. I joined Oakland Care in 2020 as a Unit Manager. I then progressed to the Head of Memory and Residential Care Role before moving into the Deputy Manager Role. I have a passion for providing exceptional care and developing a team that goes over and beyond in the care they provide.
Senior Client Relations ManagerI have supported Care Homes for over 9 years and previously worked in Leisure and HR. My role is to effectively manage the occupancy levels at our Essex and North London care homes and build positive relationships with residents, families and external contacts in the community. I work closely with the marketing department and our lifestyles teams to ensure our services are promoted to reflect the excellent care and support we provide. The residents are our extended family who we love to nurture and share daily life with whilst keeping them safe and well. I’m always delighted to meet new families and support their journey.
Head ChefI am Andre, the Head Chef at Woodland Grove, I am not geographically defined; my career started in 2006 as a commis chef in Portugal. In 2012, I moved to London to work as a junior Sous Chef and trained to become a Chef as I developed a passion for Mediterranean cuisine. I am a colorful culinary personality too. I love seasoning dishes, and I always pay attention to keeping the flavours in the dishes that I cook, I am happy to see people satisfied with the taste of the food and see them enjoying their meals and desserts. I work closely with all residents to ensure they always have their needs met and their views respected. I am working closely to overview the cooked dishes and ensure all their nutrition needs are met. I am passionate about what I do, and I do what I love.
“The care my mother, who suffers from vascular dementia, received during the time she was at Woodland Grove was excellent. Woodland Grove is full of light and laughter and the staff have the best interests of the residents at their heart.”
“From day one, every member of staff that I have come into contact with have always been very welcoming and helpful. The team of staff on the Primrose floor have been extremely helpful and patient with my numerous questions. I feel happy and confident that when I leave my brother I will be contacted should they have any concerns which is very reassuring. The care and support my brother receives is first class, he has settled in extremely well in a very short time. He seems a lot happier in himself and very comfortable in his new surroundings. I would highly recommend Woodland Grove.”
” My experience at Woodland Grove has been excellent all-round. My mother has been in a week to give me some respite, and it has worked out extremely well, and we will probably do it again in the future..”
“My mum has been a resident at Woodland Grove for several years now, having moved from a different care home, and quite honestly, I could not imagine her being in better care. The home and its staff are outstanding. From the day my family and I first visited the site, to the day Mum moved in and every day since, they have exceeded everything I thought a care home could be, by far. I’m usually quite reserved, but it would be a disservice not to give them full marks across the board. Not only do I thank them for caring for my mum, and giving her and the other residents a real home, amazing food and a calendar full of activities and events, but for what they’ve done for my dad and all my family as well.”
“Mum has settled into Woodland Grove and considers it her home. The carers on Snowdrop are always attentive, respectful and openly loving towards her. The lifestyle team are the heart and soul of Woodland and ensure Mum is never lonely or bored. The activities are interesting, inventive and varied. Mum loves having her hair and nails done weekly; she feels valued. Whenever I visit, it is a warm and welcoming place. I feel happy Mum is living in a safe and kind home.”
