St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations at Oakland Care Homes
St. Patrick’s Day, the cultural and religious celebration honouring Ireland’s patron saint, was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm at Oakland Care Homes. Residents and team members joined in the festivities and enjoyed a day filled with fun, music, and dance.
At #BeechwoodGrove, the lucky clovers were out to protect the home from evil spirits and repel any bad luck. The staff dressed in green to be invisible to the naughty leprechauns, and Guinness was served to ensure everyone had a good time.
The celebrations continued at Elsyng House, where they partied the day away with the lovely Clayton.
At Elmbrook Court, the residents were treated to a special performance by the dancers from Maguire O’Shea Academy of Irish Dance. They were amazed at the talent and had a fabulous afternoon.
At Hyllden Heights, they did Shamrock baking and did a movie screening with PS, I Love You in the cinema with a cheeky Guinness followed by an Irish sing-along.
Hastings Court’s St Patrick’s Day is always a lot of fun. People don the colours of the Emerald Isle, listen to the sweetest music, and dance as if no one is watching.
The celebrations at Osbern Manor included a quiz in the afternoon, followed by a St. Patrick’s Day sing-along from staff and family members.
At Woodland Grove, St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated in style with not one but two incredible parties that were filled with excitement and good cheer. Regular live singer Edmund Jeffery led the home in singing all the best Irish songs, transporting residents back to their fondest memories of Ireland and the lively Irish pubs they love so much.
Celebrating days such as St. Patrick’s Day also allows us to celebrate the heritage of some of our residents and support their emotional, social, and cultural well-being.
Oakland Care Homes celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with full vigour and excitement. The residents and staff joined the celebrations and enjoyed a day filled with festivities, parades, and green-themed events.
We hope everyone had a great St. Patrick’s Day. Wherever you go and whatever you do, may the luck of the Irish be with you.
