Oakland Care Celebrates Care Home Open Week 2023

Our Oakland Care Homes celebrated Care Home Open Week 2023! It was a fantastic week with lots of fun activities and showcasing our homes to visitors and the local community.

This special national event, organised by Championing Social Care, was held from 26th June to 3rd July. It is a wonderful opportunity to discover more about care homes, their teams, and the social care sector. Our care homes are amazing homes and community hubs, with exceptional facilities for our residents to continue living life to the fullest and staffed by the most incredible people.

Our wonderful Hastings Court Care Home held a vegas themed afternoon! From Roulette, Black-Jack, live music and a good ol’ fashion wedding!

As with everything Hastings Court does, you can guarantee it was done with ‘Pizzazz’!

Beechwood Grove’s open day had a lot of fun for residents and visitors. The day started with a visit from G Fitness, who put the residents through their paces with a new exercise routine.

Afterwards, a local Carers group visited the home to experience a Beechwood Grove party, which started with a tour of the home and ended with a spectacular music performance by David Woloszko – a live singer, who performed for the home’s rainbow party! Also, everyone got to taste the delicious rainbow cake made by the amazing Hastings Court kitchen team! Everyone had a great time experiencing life at Beechwood Grove!

Our newest home, Hyllden Heights in Hildenbourough, joined in with its first Care Home Open Day – a special time for the residents, families and visitors! They welcomed those who visited with a personal tour of the home and showcased fun activities, including a dance session with the residents and visitors – it was so enjoyable!

Afterwards, the team got ready for their planting session, but first, they had to select the beautiful flowers delivered to the home in the morning.

Selecting the flowers with residents and their families was enjoyable as there were various beautiful flowers to choose from.

The team and residents look forward to working on their garden to make it a beautiful space for everyone to enjoy!
