Oakland Care Celebrates St. George’s Day with Special Events Across Homes
Oakland Care Homes celebrated St. George’s Day with a range of special events across all our Care Homes. The day saw residents and team members come together to enjoy a range of activities, from traditional dancing to arts and crafts sessions and singalongs.
At Beechwood Grove, residents were treated to a performance by the Long Man Morris dancers. The traditional 15th-century dancing added a touch of nostalgia to the day and put everyone in the festive spirit. The day was a hit with residents, who enjoyed watching the dancers and joining in the fun.
Meanwhile, Birchwood Heights held an Art Club session where residents worked on a St. George’s Day collage. The residents put their creativity to the test and created a beautiful collage that was displayed for all to see. It was a great way for residents to showcase their artistic skills and celebrate the day.
At Elsyng House, the day started with a performance from Charlie Regan, who sang classic singalongs, getting everyone in the spirit of the day.
Hastings Court celebrated the day with a quote by Saint George and the Dragon, “Unleash the power within you, and you shall conquer every dragon on your path.” The quote served as a powerful reminder that true strength lies within us. It was a great way for residents to reflect and feel inspired.
Finally, Woodland Grove held an unforgettable event organised by the Hospitality team. The team brought the story of Saint George and the dragon to life with their fantastic acting skills. All the residents got to be knights and join in the fun, which included a lively sing-along. It was a day filled with excitement that will be remembered for a long time to come.
Overall, St. George’s Day was a great success at Oakland Care Homes. It was a great way to add festivity to daily life and create fond memories.
