Beechwood Grove Care Home shortlisted for national award
Our Beechwood Grove Care Home is in the running to be crowned ‘Care Home of the Year’
Our Beechwood Grove Care Home in Eastbourne is in the running to be crowned ‘Care Home of the Year’ in the prestigious Caring UK national awards, just a year after opening.
Beechwood Grove has beaten off competition from hundreds of other homes to be shortlisted in the category for the Southern region. The annual Caring UK awards recognise excellence and achievement in care homes throughout the country.
Wonderful and Distinctive Service
Beechwood Grove was shortlisted because of its “wonderful” and “distinctive” service and the “respect and kindness” shown to residents.
Beechwood Grove opened in June 2018, was recently awarded ‘Good’ in all aspects by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and has reached capacity in less than a year. It currently has a waiting list of people wanting to move in.
Also run by Oakland Care, our Woodland Grove Care Home in Loughton, Essex was also shortlisted at the awards for the Activities Team of the Year.
Speaking about being shortlisted as a finalist, Home Manager, Caroline Braime said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be a finalist. To be considered for ‘care home of the year’ in such a short space of time is such an achievement!
“However, we have aimed high from the very beginning and we are proud of the standards of care we provide and the quality of life we offer to our residents.”
Housekeeping team of the year
Beechwood Grove is also in the running for ‘Housekeeping Team of the Year’ because of the staff’s willingness to go the extra mile.
Caroline said: “Our head housekeeper, Lisa, is known as Twinkle because she brings that bit of sparkle to residents every day. The team not only keep the home in spotless condition, they always make time to stop and chat if someone needs some one-to-one time and will often come in on their days off to support events taking place in the home. Nothing is too much trouble, they are always willing to help.”
Winners announced on the 15th November
Beechwood Grove is one of seven finalists through to the next stage of the judging process, in both categories, where they will be out to impress by showcasing first-hand the great work going on in their homes.
A member of the awards team will tour the facilities and chat to residents before compiling a comprehensive report which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to decide the winners.
Winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday November 15 at The Athena conference centre in Leicester.
