Lambwood Heights Carers Week
Lambwood Heights honours Carers for National Carers Week
Our team at Lambwood Heights Care Home in Chigwell, Esssex, paid tribute to cares around the home for their dedication to our residents and patients they care for. Carers were presented with gifts to thank them for the real difference they make to the lives of those in their care.
Thank you Carers
Staff were treated to gifts including boxes of chocolates, pocket watches and handwritten cards from our residents to say thank you. Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
This year, people across the country are continuing to face new challenges as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. Our carers have been working tirelessly to provide high quality, personalised care to the people living in our homes, and have continuously gone above and beyond in the call of duty.
Lifestyles Manager Aimee Basham said, “It is really important that we always appreciate our carers and their continued hard work, bravery and compassion. Their support enriches so many lives, not just those of our residents but the whole team.”
Along with celebrating our carers throughout the week, we asked a few of our team members about why they chose to be a carer.
Sharon
“I’ve been a carer for 36 years. I just love helping others, and if I can do one little thing to make someone smile then I’m happy.”
Gabriela
“I’ve always liked to care for people. I want to help people the way someone will help my parents one day.”
Gina
“I started caring for the elderly after looking after my own family members. I treat our residents like my own family, and I love making them smile and laugh.”
Grazina
“I’ve been a carer for 8 years. I’ve always wanted to help those who need it, and I enjoy being able to brighten up someone’s day.”
Dave
“I want to give people a better life and make sure that they are able to enjoy their lives as much as possible. I enjoy caring for other people.”
