Well-being at Oakland Care
At Oakland Care, our homes offer a range of different facilities and activities to keep our residents’ minds and bodies healthy.
Each of our care homes offers various facilities to care for the mind and body, including therapy rooms, spa rooms, hair and nail salons, and barbers. Please refer to your local care home for more information.
Our activities are tailored to accommodate individuals with varying capabilities. We offer a wide range of exercise classes at each home, from yoga to drum-fit and chair-based exercises, all aimed at enhancing flexibility and overall wellness. Some exercises are specifically designed for those living with Dementia.

Pet Therapy
Pet therapy is very popular with many of our residents. We welcome different animals, from bunnies and dogs to birds and even lambs and ponies, to allow residents to interact with these wonderful, friendly animals. We have seen that this positively affects well-being and helps prevent feelings of isolation and loneliness. Pets equal happiness!
Socialise and meet new friends
All of our care homes offer a range of facilities to promote social interaction, and many of our residents have forged strong friendships within them. Our bistro areas are the perfect place to have a cup of tea or something stronger with other residents, and many of our activities provide the opportunity to enjoy partaking in a hobby together.
At our care homes, we believe in the power of community. That’s why we’ve established partnerships with local organisations and community groups to enhance our residents’ social experiences. These partnerships bring a variety of activities to our homes, from visits by the local nursery or school to intergenerational activities that promote connection across generations.
Supporting family and friends
We know how important it is for our residents to keep in touch with their families and friends, maintaining the continuity of their lifestyle before moving in. Families are welcomed and encouraged to visit regularly, fostering strong connections and support networks.
The best way to keep in touch is to arrange regular visits to see your loved one. We always warmly welcome visitors and enjoy seeing family and friends take part in our activities. We have a range of measures in place to support the ongoing well-being of our residents and staff.
We understand that distance or busy schedules can make in-person visits challenging. In such cases, we encourage staying connected online. It’s easy, effective, and personal. Our Smart Devices enable residents to enjoy video calls with their families, bridging the gap of distance and helping them feel closer to their loved ones. A simple phone call is always a great way to connect as well.
