Dining and Hospitality at Oakland Care
Our in-house chefs and catering teams ensure all meals and snacks are freshly prepared, healthy and nutritious.
Using seasonal and nutritious produce, residents can choose from our daily varied menu. We cater for most dietary requirements and serve food wherever residents feel most comfortable, whether that be in our restaurant style dining rooms or in the comfort of their own private bedrooms. Healthy and freshly prepared snacks are available throughout the day in our bistro areas and hydration stations.
Dining and nutrition at Oakland Care is overseen by our award-winning Executive Chef, Giles Conroy. He works closely with the hospitality and catering teams in each Oakland Care Home to make sure our exceptional standards of cuisine and service are constantly maintained.

Offering a fundamental wealth of previous experience in a multitude of Michelin & Rosette acclaimed establishments worldwide, including overseeing and leading 14 years of corporate luxury care catering operations for premium care providers, Giles’s position as executive chef at Oakland Care delivers a vision of excellence, dedication, and a firm commitment to providing the very best dining experience for both catering team members and residents.
As Executive Chef, Giles is responsible for generating feedback from all care homes in the Oakland Care portfolio to support the construction and delivery of our food quality provisions. He is also instrumental in coaching and mentoring Oakland Cares Regional Support and community-based kitchen teams to ensure the elevation of standards and exceed expectations to provide the best home dining experience.

Annika has a wealth of experience in floor operations. She works with both care and catering teams to deliver a high level of bespoke training, support, and mentorship while ensuring the link between care and catering is fluid in operation and understanding. Annika is passionate about delivering the most premium dining experience and resident satisfaction. She can put her hand to everything and anything to support all our Oakland Care Team members and operational services. Annika is kind, caring and considerate and fulfils her role as Development Chef in every way she can.

Iain was born in Eastbourne and qualified as a Chef in 1983. He worked in hotels around Eastbourne and progressed to Head Chef at the Afton Hotel in 1987. After a brief move to the Isle of Wight, where he was the Head Chef in one of the largest hotels on the island, he returned to Eastbourne and joined Beechwood Grove in July 2019. He has since progressed to Catering Operations Manager for Oakland Care. He has four children, all girls, and four grandchildren and is an avid Arsenal fan!
Seasonal Menus
We use feedback from our residents to create seasonally balanced menus for all our homes. By utilising feedback and then working with procurement, we ensure the delivery of menu options that include the preferences of our residents and use the best in-season produce.
Private Dining at Oakland Care
You can celebrate your special event with us, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary or some other reason to celebrate, we can host friends or family members in one of our private dining rooms in many of our homes. To make the event even more memorable, our hospitality and catering team will be happy to discuss your requirements with you including special extras such as decorations, flowers and a glass of bubbles or beverages of your choice.
