Woodland Grove Care Home residents walk the carpet for Annual Easter Parade
Woodland Grove Care Home residents celebrated Easter by showing off their Easter bonnets for the Annual Easter Parade. Residents displayed their moves and skills as they took the catwalk to kick off the Easter celebrations.

Woodland Grove organised their Annual Easter Parade within the home and gave residents a ‘cracking’ good time in the process. Residents proudly showed off their Easter bonnets as in years gone by people would be eager to wear new clothes and hats to mark a time for renewal.
Keeping up with the tradition the bonnets and baskets helped in reminiscence as that is a key part of the person-centred approach at Woodland Grove.
One of the residents said, “Easter has always been a time to get my best clothes on and go to church. I had a great time showing off my bonnet and having fun with my friends.”
Lifestyles Manager Elise Woolnough said, “Easter is a great time to celebrate new beginnings, new friendships and have some fun in the process. We have really embraced this and residents and staff worked together to create the most amazing parade.
“There was even a bit of rivalry once each resident started hitting the catwalk. We all had a great day and this year we put a twist on things with a few games too!”
Happy Easter
Good Friday saw residents take part in Easter baking and an Easter egg hunt. On Saturday and Easter Sunday residents took part in some baking and created beautifully designed ornaments in their arts and crafts session. Residents enjoyed all of the activities and had fun sharing childhood stories whilst playing Easter bingo.
Client Relations Manager Fiona Heneghan added, “Woodland Grove always put a huge amount of effort into ensuring our residents have a fantastic Easter each year. Thank you to all of our amazing team for making Easter a fun occasion for all of our residents.”
