Silver Sunday Celebrations at Oakland Care
Our Beechwood Grove Care Home in Eastbourne, East Sussex and our Woodland Grove Home in Loughton, Essex celebrated Silver Sunday on 7th October 2018.
Each care home opened their doors and welcomed the local elderly community to join residents, family and staff for afternoon tea and entertainment.
Beechwood Grove Care Home held a vintage afternoon tea and entertainment was provided by the well-known local performer Bertie Boater, who performed his landmark 1000th show with us. Woodland Grove Care Home also offered an afternoon team and a traditional fete with games stalls and fun for all the family. One visitor at Woodland Grove said: “This tea is better than tea at The Ritz!”
Silver Sunday is an annual day of fun and free activities for older people across the UK. Led by The Sir Simon Milton Foundation, it celebrates the value and knowledge they contribute to our communities while combating loneliness and isolation.
