Elmbrook Court resident has found her love of golfing once again
Patricia enjoys her golfing passion again
Patricia Hudson, resident at our Elmbrook Court Care Home in Wantage has been a keen golfer since her husband encouraged her to take up the game during the 1970’s. Pat was a member of Ringway Golf Club near Altrincham in Cheshire, where she lived across the road from the course.
Pat continued to play golf over the years, and in 1975 she became a member of Heswall Golf Club with her husband Bryan and son Nigel and where she played the majority of her golf. Pat managed to get her handicap down into the 20’s and was a very steady hitter. She played in club competitions with other lady players and mixed couple events with her husband. Pat and Bryan brought a flat in Spain in 1980 where they continued to play regularly on a neighbouring course.
To celebrate golf’s ‘The Open’ 149th at Royal St Georges, Elmbrook Court decided to mark the occasion and purchased a practice putting machine so that Patricia could play once again! All residents enjoyed watching Pat in action and having a go for themselves!
Patricia watched many golf videos on YouTube to familiarise herself and also thoroughly enjoyed watching the open ceremony of ‘The Open’ on Sky Sports after a morning putting session.
