Our new luxury care home in Enfield, Elsyng House will create up to 100 new jobs
Opening in February 2021 in Enfield, Elsyng House Care Home will provide all-inclusive residential, nursing, memory and respite care for up to 75 residents. Jobs will be created across a number of roles including care, nursing, administration, catering, laundry and maintenance.
The purpose-built care home is the newest addition to our Oakland Care portfolio which includes Lambwood Heights in Chigwell, Woodland Grove in Loughton and Hastings Court and Beechwood Grove on the East Sussex coast.
Oakland Care introduced a series of preventative measures very early on in the pandemic. These included closing to visitors in March, purchasing significant stocks of PPE and cleaning products at the earliest point, closing staff rooms, co-horting groups of staff to specific areas of the homes, additional cleaning and extra hand-washing facilities.
We also introduced Summerhouses in the garden of each of our homes so that residents could still have meaningful face-to-face contact with their families.
Oakland Care CEO Joanne Balmer has said that Elsyng House will open with strict protocols in place to ensure residents’ safety. Joanne said, “Elsyng House will be a great addition to the community. As well as providing a safe and caring environment, it will also offer local people the chance to build a career with us.
“Oakland Care is shortlisted for three Laing Buisson awards – national awards that recognise standards of care, management excellence and our response to the COVID-19 crisis – so people should have confidence to both live with us and work for us.”
Elsyng House will also offer much-needed care home beds to the local community. Latest figures suggest London saw the greatest number of care home closures in 2019, despite already offering 30% fewer beds than the national average.
The Show Suite at Elsyng House Care Home is now open where visitors are invited to come in and take a look at our luxury new care home.
The home will offer residents private en-suite facilities, a café bistro, cinema room, hair and beauty salon, barbers, air-conditioned lounges, as well as a family room and garden areas.
Initially, 30 new roles will be created, reaching up to 100 when the home is fully occupied. Elsyng House will also support apprenticeships and work placements.
