Oakland Care Shortlisted for three Caring UK Awards
Oakland Care is delighted to have been shortlisted in three categories at the Caring UK Awards, 2018.
Hastings Court Care Home has been shortlisted in both the ‘Excellence and Innovation in Dementia Care’ category and the ‘Dementia Team of the Year’ category. Woodland Grove Care Home has been shortlisted in the ‘Quality in Housekeeping’ category. Speaking about being shortlisted for the awards, Hastings Court Home Manager, Georgina Gamble said: “We are thrilled to be recognised for all the hard work we put into ensuring that our residents live the best life they can live. We’re always guided by our company values and one of which is ‘joining our home is joining our family’. If the residents were our family this is the way we would want them to live and If we get an award for this then we will be bursting with pride.”
Hazel McGwyne, Manager at Woodland Grove said: “I feel delighted that my housekeeping team have been recognised in this way. I know that Jackie, our Team Leader, is very proud of her team and I believe this award nomination is justified as we receive numerous comments on a daily basis on how lovely and clean the home looks and smells, and this is all down to the great work the housekeeping do on a daily basis all year long.”
The Caring UK Awards are now in their second year and recognise excellence and achievement within the care sector across the UK. Up to six finalists have been selected in each category. We will now go through to the next stage of the judging process where we will be showcasing first-hand the great work going on in our homes. This stage involves a visit to each finalist by a member of the Caring UK awards team who will take a look around our homes and chat to members and staff before compiling a comprehensive report, which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to decide the winners. The winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony at The Athena in Leicester on Thursday, December 6 where the industry will celebrate its 2018 successes and achievements.
