Meet our New Oakland Care Senior Head Chef Adam Rooze
A big welcome to Adam Rooze, our new Senior Head Chef at Oakland Care
Based at our Woodland Grove care home in Loughton, Adam brings a wealth of experience with him, having a career that has expanded over 17 years in the catering industry.
After training for three years at Cambridge Catering Academy, Adam began his career as a Commis Chef, quickly progressing to Chef de Partie’ and Sous Chef. Adam was also Head Pastry
Chef at a hotel in Cambridge before becoming Head Chef at a local tapas bar at 21 years-old.
Shortly after this Adam moved away from mainstream catering and began his career in the care industry as a Catering Manager for a residential home. Since then he has worked in
catering and customer service management within the private healthcare and
social care sectors.
Adam said: “I am passionate about great service and believe that a good meal comes not just from the food but the whole dining experience.”
“I am fully qualified in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care and have a passion for providing good food and nutrition to vulnerable people focusing on the dynamics of colour and texture
twinned with quality ingredients to make a difference to meal times.”
“I am a real people person, and whole-heartedly believe that people make the difference in life. I enjoy training and developing teams, imparting my enthusiasm to build great relationships and ultimately improving not only the service but the environment as a whole.”
As Senior Head Chef at Oakland Care, Adam will be setting a new dining standard within our care homes. He is currently based at Woodland Grove care home in Loughton and is working to bring the service and dining experience to a new level of excellence, working closely with the teams throughout the home to ensure the food and service is at a five-star level.
