At Oakland Care, we know creating a warm, welcoming, and comfortable home for our residents takes a whole-team effort. During International Housekeeping Week, we took the opportunity to recognise and thank the incredible housekeeping and hospitality teams working across our homes.
While much of their work happens behind the scenes, their impact is seen and felt every day. From maintaining beautiful living spaces and ensuring high standards of cleanliness, to supporting residents, welcoming visitors and helping create a true sense of home, these dedicated team members play an essential role in the lives of everyone in our communities.
Across our homes, teams marked the week in a variety of ways, taking time to celebrate the people who make such a difference each day.
At Beechwood Grove, the team used the occasion to thank their housekeeping team members and recognise several fantastic achievements. Congratulations were given to Christine for receiving her Green Award, Sheetal for achieving her NVQ Level 3 qualification, and Sue for completing the Walk in My Shoes course. The home also celebrated Head Chef Sean and Becky for their contribution towards achieving an outstanding 5 Star Environmental Health inspection result. These accomplishments reflect the passion, professionalism and dedication shown by team members across the home.

Meanwhile, at Hastings Court Care Home, members of the housekeeping and hospitality teams received well-deserved pamper gifts as a small token of appreciation.

Hospitality Manager Emma also received a special thank you for her leadership and support. The celebrations highlighted the important contribution these teams make every day in helping residents, families and visitors feel welcomed, cared for and at home.

At Osbern Manor Care Home, the housekeeping team enjoyed bacon baps, refreshments and gifts as colleagues came together to recognise their dedication and commitment. The team was thanked for the care, attention to detail, and kindness they bring to their role every day, helping create a welcoming environment for residents, families, and visitors alike.

Housekeeping teams are often the unsung heroes of care homes. Their work helps create safe, comfortable, and inviting environments where residents can thrive, and families can feel confident their loved ones are receiving the highest standards of support.
As we celebrate International Housekeeping Week, we want to thank every member of our housekeeping and hospitality teams across Oakland Care. Your dedication, professionalism and compassion help make our homes the special places they are, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
