Oakland Care is delighted to announce that we have successfully renewed our Carbon Neutral Certification, confirming that the organisation is Carbon Neutral through to February 2027. This certification, awarded in partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain™, covers our 2025 carbon emissions and marks our fifth consecutive year as a Certified Carbon Neutral Business.

Measuring, Reducing and Offsetting Our Carbon Impact

As part of the Carbon Neutral Britain™ Certification process, Oakland Care’s organisational carbon footprint was carefully measured and calculated across Scope 1, Scope 2 and selected Scope 3 emissions for the period 1 January to 31 December 2025.

Following this assessment, we offset 2,474.16 tonnes of CO₂e through a portfolio of internationally verified carbon offsetting projects. These projects meet recognised global standards, including the UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), ensuring our offsets deliver genuine, measurable environmental impact.

A Long‑Term Commitment to Sustainability

Renewing our Carbon Neutral status reflects far more than a certification milestone. It demonstrates Oakland Care’s long‑term commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable leadership within the care sector.

We believe that caring for people and caring for the planet go hand in hand. From investing in more energy‑efficient buildings and sustainable design to reducing emissions across our operations, we are proud to continue leading the way as The Greener Care Choice.

Continuing Our Journey Towards Net Zero

While offsetting plays an important role in addressing unavoidable emissions, our focus remains firmly on ongoing reduction, innovation and transparency as part of our wider journey towards net zero.
Our Carbon Neutral Certification sits alongside a broader programme of sustainability initiatives across the organisation, helping to ensure we are making a positive contribution to both our communities and the environment.
