Sylvia’s innovative tree design wins her the Annual Christmas Card competition

Our Lambwood Heights Care Home resident Sylvia Culling is the winner of our Annual Christmas Card Competition. We received some amazing entries this year and Sylvia’s card was the one that stood out the most.

The Senior Leadership Team absolutely loved how she incorporated the Oakland Care logo into her Christmas tree design and she was declared the unanimous winner.

Every year we challenge our residents to get creative and come up with a design that will be used as the official Oakland Care Christmas card.

Lifestyles Manager Aimee Basham said, “Sylvia really enjoyed the challenge of coming up with an idea as well as having a goal to work towards as there were a lot of individual leaves in her design.”

To congratulate Sylvia on winning the competition our team at Lambwood Heights Care Home surprised her with a gift hamper.

Aimee continued, “She was overjoyed on finding out she had won and got a little emotional as she felt so special. We’re all very happy for her!”

Sylvia said, “I can’t believe it! I never win anything and this is just amazing, thank you so much. I enjoyed making the card, it was a team effort and it has all been worth it. This is so special, wow, thank you!”
