Housekeeping Spotlight: Meet Kim Massey at Hastings Court

In our ongoing Housekeeping Spotlight series, we are delighted to introduce you to Kim Massey, our dedicated housekeeper at Hastings Court. Kim brings a wealth of experience and a passion for cleanliness that shines through in everything she does. Let’s dive into her story!

Kim has always been involved in the cleaning industry, initially working with an agency before finding her role at Hastings Court. Her extensive background has equipped her with the skills necessary to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, ensuring that residents feel comfortable and secure in their environment.

For Kim, the decision to become a housekeeper was a natural progression. “I love cleaning,” she shares. “This role allowed me to gain more experience while working in a field that I am passionate about.” It’s this enthusiasm that makes Kim a valued member of the Hastings Court team.

When deciding to join Oakland Care, Kim did her homework. “I noticed the advert for Hastings Court and looked into it further. The positive reviews caught my attention, and I thought I would give it a try.” This decision has proven to be a great fit for both Kim and the residents.

Outside of her role at Hastings Court, Kim treasures her time with family. “Family get-togethers are everything to me,” she says. Her most memorable life experience? Becoming a mom. She considers raising her children as one of her major achievements and is incredibly proud of them.

In addition to her professional dedication, Kim has some fun facts that give insight into her personality. Her favourite colours are black and orange, which reflect her vibrant spirit. When it comes to treats, she has a soft spot for Bourbon biscuits and firmly believes that pineapple does not belong on pizza— “No way!” she insists. For downtime, Kim enjoys watching her favourite film, Turbulence, which adds a bit of excitement to her leisure time.

If Kim were an animal, she’d choose to be a cockroach— “they are indestructible,” she laughs, showcasing her resilient spirit.

As Kim sets her sights on the next three years, her primary goal is to get healthier, a testament to her commitment to both personal growth and well-being.
