Housekeeper Spotlight: Kim Chrismas, Head Housekeeper at Beechwood Grove Care Home

At Oakland Care Homes, we believe our team members are the heart and soul of what we do. With this in mind, we’re shining a spotlight on our Housekeepers!  Meet Kim, our Head Housekeeper at Beechwood Grove.

Kim’s journey to becoming a housekeeper was quite a unique one. Before joining Oakland Care, she worked in Early Years Education. However, she felt drawn to a new focus in her career after watching Beechwood Grove being built during her daily commute. This pivotal moment inspired her to make a change and explore the rewarding field of care.

When asked why she chose Oakland Care, Kim expressed her admiration for the company’s values and mission statement. These beliefs align with her own, making her time here incredibly fulfilling.

One of the most memorable experiences in Kim’s life was being present at the birth of her grandchild—a moment she cherishes deeply. Outside of work, she has a passion for her dogs, and she takes great pride in raising her children, which she considers one of her major achievements.

Kim has a personality as vibrant as her favourite colour, green! If she could be any animal, she believes she would be a tiger, representing strength and confidence. When it comes to snacks, she’s a fan of custard creams, but firmly believes that pineapple has no place on pizza—much to the amusement of those around her!

In her downtime, Kim enjoys watching films, with “Iron Man” being her favourite. Looking ahead, she embraces a laid-back approach, planning to take each day as it comes over the next three years.
