Lambwood Heights residents welcome classical singer Yuri Sabatini for a memorable performance
Our residents at Lambwood Heights Care Home were treated to a garden performance by the amazing Yuri Sabatini. Yuri is a classical tenor and a singing teacher in London who has regularly performed at historical venues such as The London Stock Exchange and The Guildhall in the City of London.
Residents from different floors watched on from their respective areas as all of the necessary precautions were taken due to COVID-19. All of the residents enjoyed Yuri’s incredible performance as they were engaged and sang along throughout.
Lifestyles Manager Aimee Basham said, “Residents absolutely loved it! It was really nice seeing the classical music really unite our residents. Yuri was amazing, and even though it was chilly it was a brilliant afternoon.”
Lambwood Heights resident Winnie Mulgrew said, “Absolutely fabulous! Hearing him gives you such an amazing feeling. I hope he comes again!”
We captured the beautiful moment of Winnie enjoying Yuri’s performance in the video below:
After his performance Yuri said, “Thanks for inviting me, it was great to perform for the residents and the staff members. We’ve been lucky with the weather too!”
Staff have been going above and beyond to ensure residents are staying positive during lockdown. Lambwood Heights doors have been closed to all but essential visitors since March and the home has remained COVID-free. Families are now able to meet their loved ones in the home’s Summerhouse and see each other face-to-face.
After the success of Yuri’s garden performance, Lambwood Heights are planning similar entertainment in the coming weeks.
