Care Home resident reunites with Grandson after 18 months
Elsyng House Care Home was delighted to recently reunite resident Smriti with her grandson Max after being kept apart for 18 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Smriti recently moved all the way from her previous care home in Aberdeen to Elsyng House in Enfield to be close to her family. Her son Dev made the arrangements to fly with her to Heathrow, and soon after she moved in, he brought son Max to be reunited with his Grandma for the first time in 18 months.
Max is eight years-old and has been having regular online chats with his Grandma, but seeing her for the first visit in such a long time was very exciting for them both. When Max was asked what he thought of his Grandma moving to Enfield he said, “I was really excited to see Grandma, we can now visit her regularly.”
To visit Smriti, the family have to wear PPE and complete a lateral flow test, this was Max’s first experience in doing the this, which he took in his stride, he said, “The lateral flow test was no problem, it felt like a mini fly had gone up my nose!”
The family enjoyed tea in the bistro and had a good look round – Max commented, “I thought Elsyng House was amazing! It looked so modern and clean, and ticked all the boxes. The best thing was the cinema!” Max is looking forward to regular visits to see his Grandma and once the weather warms up will enjoy being in the large garden with her.
Elsyng House Care Home has 75 individual, private, en-suite rooms, and state-of-the- art facilities. The home offers residents a café bistro, cinema room, hair and beauty salon, barbers, air-conditioned lounges, as well as a family room and beautiful garden areas for residents and families to enjoy.
