We are spotlighting Sean Collins, the talented Head Chef at our Beechwood Grove in Eastbourne. Sean’s journey to becoming a chef and passion for the care industry make him a standout in his field.
Sean’s journey to becoming a chef is a testament to his dedication and hard work. His background in the hospitality sector, which included attending a local catering college and gaining experience in various roles within restaurants, hotels, and even a local golf course, led him from an assistant chef to the prestigious position of Head Chef at Oakland Care.
Sean’s love for cooking began at a young age when he and a friend would create menus and serve dinners to their parents. This early passion led him to join the care industry, where he found fulfilment in providing nourishing and delicious meals to the residents.
One of Sean’s most memorable life experiences was the birth of his daughter, Polly. Outside work, he is an avid cyclist and enjoys riding his mountain bike on the local trails in Friston Forest.
Sean’s major achievements include marrying his wife – the girl of my dreams, raising his daughter and leading his team to success as a Head Chef.
When asked what animal he would be, Sean humorously said he would choose to be a dog, enjoying a carefree and pampered life. His favourite colour is sky blue, and he has a penchant for mint green attire.
When it comes to biscuits, nothing beats his homemade chocolate chip cookies. In a fun rapid-fire round, Sean revealed his love for pineapple on pizza, his favourite film being “The Dark Knight Batman,” and his plans for the next three years, which include completing an NVQ in hospitality and aspiring to become the head of hospitality, all with a touch of humour by adding, “Take over the world.”
Sean Collins is a talented chef and a passionate individual. His dedication to his craft and warm personality make him an invaluable asset to Beechwood Grove and the Oakland Care family.
