Before joining Oakland Care, Phil worked in a similar role for another major care provider, gaining valuable experience in various care homes, hotels, and restaurants nationwide.

His journey into the culinary world began during college, where a part-time kitchen porter job led him to discover his love for cooking. The Head Chef recognised his talent and offered him the opportunity to showcase his skills, setting him on the path to becoming a chef.

When asked why he chose the care industry, Phil fondly recalls his beginnings as a kitchen porter and the pivotal moment he was entrusted with preparing starters. His dedication and love for cooking led him to the care industry, where he could make a meaningful impact through his culinary expertise.

Joining Oakland Care was a natural choice for Phil, driven by his desire to progress his career and align himself with a company that shares his values. His commitment to quality and excellence perfectly aligns with Oakland Care’s ethos, making him an invaluable addition to the team.

Beyond the kitchen, Phil’s passions and hobbies include a love for all sports, motorsports, art, history, walking/hiking, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through gym and spa activities. His diverse interests reflect his vibrant personality and well-rounded approach to life.

One of Phil’s major achievements includes winning an award for a level 4 puree vegan chocolate fudge cake at the Houses of Parliament, showcasing his creativity and culinary talent on a prestigious stage.

If Phil were an animal, he humorously claims he would be a lion, embodying strength and leadership. Regarding his personal preferences, Phil’s favourite colour is black/yellow, reflecting his dynamic and bold nature.

He indulges in Foxes chocolate cookies as his favourite biscuit and is unapologetically in favour of pineapple on pizza. His go-to film is “Shawshank Redemption,” highlighting his appreciation for compelling storytelling and powerful narratives.

Looking to the future, Phil’s plans for the next three years revolve around continuous learning and progression within Oakland Care’s regional team, guided by his inspiring line manager, Giles Conroy.
