When the Lifestyles Team goes quiet, we know they are up to something! Catherine and her team have been prepping for Team BG Olympics!
The residents got busy making some medals, and although they weren’t sure what they were for, excitement was building for a special event happening!
When the event started, the residents were in full preparation mode, starting with a relaxing yoga session with Akaysa. As the residents found time to unwind before the games began, there were reports of cheese scones being sniffed out on a trip to St Wilfrid’s Hospice Street Cafe for a resident outing.
In the afternoon, the baking commenced with cupcakes on offer, and the residents got busy decorating in the colours of the Olympic rings. Special guest Molly led the session for the residents, adding to the anticipation of the events.
The day had finally arrived, and the action at Beechwood Grove’s Sports Day with a variety of games, including darts, wellie throwing, skittles, and more.
As the Olympic torch was lit and made its way around Beechwood Grove, the excitement reached its peak. The games officially began, and everyone eagerly participated in the various activities.
The Beechwood Grove games were a resounding success! Attendees enjoyed a competitive afternoon in the sun, indulging in mocktails and ice cream to beat the heat. The lifestyles team was commended for an outstanding event, and Minibus driver Chris was recognised for his valuable assistance. Results from the day’s events were being calculated, with an announcement forthcoming.
Finally, the results were in, and it was declared that everyone was a winner!
The competition had been too close to call, and in the spirit of inclusivity, it was decided that all participants deserved a medal for their involvement in the first-ever Beechwood Grove games.
It was hoped that attendees had as much fun as the organisers did, and there was excitement in anticipation of future events.
