The Great Oakland Care Christmas Bake Off…

Beechwood Grove Care Home in Eastbourne recently bloomed with colour and community spirit during its vibrant Spring Flower Festival.
The event brought together residents, staff, and visitors for a weekend of floral displays, sweet treats, and heartfelt fundraising—all in support of a worthy cause.

While previous festivals have supported the RNLI, this year’s event turned its focus to the East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS), a local charity dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating injured wildlife. The care home’s bistro was transformed into a garden of creativity, with residents proudly crafting their own stunning floral displays alongside sugar flowers for cakes. Their contributions added a profoundly personal and meaningful touch to the event.

Judges from Ann’s Flowers had the challenge of selecting winners from the many beautiful creations while guests enjoyed refreshments and eagerly purchased raffle tickets to win handcrafted prizes.

The atmosphere was festive and full of purpose, as every petal and pastry helped raise awareness and funds for WRAS’s vital work.

Supporting WRAS also aligned perfectly with Oakland Care’s commitment to sustainability, reinforcing the organisation’s dedication to protecting people and the planet. By backing a charity that champions local wildlife and environmental care, the festival echoed the core values at the heart of Beechwood Grove.

The celebration honoured nature’s beauty and showcased the power of community, where creativity, compassion, and care come together to make a lasting impact.
